Key Information

The ANU College of Business and Economics will be offering a Summer School program in 2012. Courses will be offered over the period Tuesday 3 January 2012 to Friday 3 February 2012. Examinations will be conducted within this period. The census date for Summer School courses will be Friday 6 January 2012. Withdrawals after this date will incur a fee liability and a grade of WD for the course. Please note that if you apply to enrol in a Summer School course, it is your responsibility to check your enrolment and withdraw if you do not undertake the course.

Fees

CBE Summer School courses are offered on a non award up-front fee paying basis.

Note : Students cannot pay or defer payment for these courses through HECS-HELP.

The Summer School fee for 2012 will be as follows:

Undergraduate:

$2,946 per course for domestic students

Undergraduate:

$3,414 per course for international students

The due date for payment of tuition fees is Friday 6 January 2012. Invoices will be emailed to you. However, you are required to check your fee liability on ISIS before 6 January 2012.

The timetable will be posted on this site by the 30 October 2011.

Applications

Students CANNOT enrol on-line via ISIS.

Application forms for ANU students can now be printed from the website or collected from the College Office. Closing date for applications for the 2012 Summer School is Friday 9 December 2011.

Non-ANU students should submit an Application for Non-Award Enrolment form.

Please note: applications from non - ANU students will not be considered unless accompanied by a transcript of previous study.

Admission Requirements

To undertake a course in the ANU College of Business and Economics Summer School, you need to have completed the listed prerequisites for that course at The Australian National University or another acceptable tertiary institution. Refer to the individual course homepage for prerequisite conditions at the Study@ANU site.

If you have completed the prerequisites then you may undertake the course if:

  • you are a student at an Australian or international university and are a native English speaker or have an appropriate English language qualification; OR
  • your educational qualifications, including English language proficiency, would gain you admission into a generalist degree program at The Australian National University

Restrictions on number of courses

Students may undertake no more than two courses, and sit a maximum of two exams including any supplementary or special exams. If students have to take two supplementary or special exams in January or February 2012, they are not permitted to undertake any Summer School courses. If students are required to take one special or one supplementary exam in January or February 2012 only one summer school course is permitted.

Application of ANU rules

Summer school students are subject to the Rules and Regulations of The Australian National University.

Notification of Outcome of Application

Please Note: Current ANU students will not receive written notification of the outcome of their application for Summer School Enrolment. If you are a current student, you are required to check confirmation of your enrolment in the ANU College of Business and Economics Summer School courses, on ISIS after 21 December 2011.

Non ANU students will receive an offer letter and further enrolment instructions.

Withdrawal from Summer School Courses

If you wish to withdraw from a Summer School Course you are required to complete a Application for Enrolment Variation form and submit this to the College Office before Friday 6 January 2012. Withdrawals after this date will incur a fee liability and a grade of WD for the course.

If you have submitted an application form and are enrolled in a Summer School course, it is your responsibility to check ISIS and withdraw if you do not undertake the course, to avoid a fee liability.

Status

Status for Summer School courses for ANU students is not automatic. If you wish to be considered for status in your degree program for a Summer School course then you must submit an Application for Status form after you have successfully completed the course(s). Forms are available from the ANU website, the College Office ANU College of Business and Economics or Student Academic Services.
