About the Student Ambassador Program
The Student Ambassador program is an exclusive program designed for outstanding students to become actively involved in promoting ANU and the college of Business and Economics.
The role of a Student Ambassador
The role of the student ambassador is to assist the CBE Marketing and Development Office (MDO) to actively promote the ANU College of Business and Economics to potential students, government and local businesses.
As an Ambassador you will be expected to:
1. Share knowledge with prospective students based on your own experiences studying at the ANU and the College of Business and Economics.
You will share your knowledge and experiences of:
- Bachelor Degrees and/or Graduate Programs offered by ANU College of Business and Economics
- Living in Canberra
- Accommodation, Services and Resources on campus
- University life
2. Provide support to the CBE Marketing and Development Office at exclusive college events
Student Ambassadors may have the opportunity to assist the MDO with staffing exclusive events such as the annual CBE Prizes and Scholarships Ceremony, Graduation Ceremony and Student Welcome. The events will provide Student Ambassador with unique opportunities to network with distinguished guests whilst developing interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Provide editorial content for use on promotional materials
Student Ambassadors will be required to provide a personal profile for use on college promotional materials such as the College magazine Margin, the College undergraduate guide, and promotional newsletters and flyers.
Benefits of being a Student Ambassador
In addition to access to exclusive networking opportunities and gaining valuable professional experience and training, the role of Student Ambassador is a paid casual position within the ANU College of Business and Economics.
Student ambassadors may also be offered exclusive opportunities such as assisting with conferences, writing for college publications and other activities which may contribute to the building of their own personal profile. These types of opportunities will be unpaid and up to the individual ambassador if they wish to participate.
Students who participate in the program will also receive a certificate of participation and a written reference.
Selection Criteria
Recruitment into the Student Ambassador Program occurs on an annual basis. The number of applicants short listed is determined based on the availability of places, program of study, demand in the location/s in which the applicant completed High School and the quality of applications submitted.
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- Enrolled in an ANU College of Business and Economics Undergraduate Bachelor Degree or Graduate Program
And demonstrate the following qualities:
- Enthusiasm
- Initiative
- Well developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Available to participate in group training
- Good public speaking skills will be highly regarded
Applications will be judged on the quality and relevance of the application and performance at interview.

Commencement
